Your orthodontic consultation in Richmond, TX
Your first visit to our orthodontist office will be a free exam for you or your child.
First, the doctor will carefully examine the teeth for a wide range of possible orthodontic problems, such as crowding, cross-bite, gaps, etc. Once the doctor has a clear picture of the most likely course of treatment, we’ll discuss what type of treatment is necessary and how long it will take. We will also estimate how much it will cost.
At the end of your first appointment, you’ll understand everything you need to know in order to decide whether to proceed with treatment.
What to expect at your first orthodontic appointment
When you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted by our treatment coordinator, who will introduce you to our office and take down and necessary information to get you into our system. After filling out any necessary paperwork, we’ll take diagnostic records like digital x-rays and photographs of your teeth to assist in forming a diagnosis.
Next, you’ll receive a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation. During this evaluation, your orthodontist will carefully examine your teeth, bite, jaws, and mouth overall to identify any orthodontic malocclusions that may be present and identify what treatments we can use to improve your smile.
We are committed to our patients, and we’ll take all the time necessary to answer any questions you may have.
After the exam, you’ll meet back up with our treatment coordinator to discuss the results of the exam, the doctor’s recommendations, your insurance benefits, and any individual payment plans available to you. After this discussion, you’ll work with our treatment coordinator to schedule your next appointments and outline the next steps.

Regular Appointments
After the records appointment, we’ll be ready to schedule an appointment to have your new appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) placed. That process usually takes one to two hours. You’ll then see us at regular intervals of four to eight weeks for adjustments, which take about 30 minutes.
Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask you to extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
